• To equip students with basic legal concepts and knowledge relevant to social work practice

• To examine the relationship between law and the social work profession

• To facilitate students to evaluate the rules and regulations in the legal system critically and to raise their awareness on daily legal issues

• To equip students with knowledge to make decision in ethical dilemma when applying the legal rules to social work practice

• To enable students to acquire legal research skills and expose students to legal literature
